The Artist
Jim Homan was born and raised in Ohio, In 2018 he moved to beautiful Mount Dora, Florida with his lovely wife, Marjorie. His love of woodcarving started in his teens but he wasn’t able to truly enjoy his passion for woodcarving until after his retirement.
An award-winning carver, Jim continues to learn different carving techniques by taking classes across the United States. Jim designs and carves across a broad range of subjects and styles, from realistic to whimsical, relief to ornamental. Jim has donated his carvings to be auctioned for fundraisers and wildlife organizations.
Jim teaches woodcarving to individuals and groups from his workshop and the Mount Dora Center for the Arts.
